Tag Autocomplete
Typed queries surface suggestions that become popping tag chips
Create a tag input with animated autocomplete. A bordered field that holds tag chips plus a free-text area ('Add tags…' placeholder). From the second typed character, a suggestion dropdown springs open beneath the field (from 97% scale and 6px up, spring stiffness 460, damping 28) listing matches with the typed prefix bolded; suggestions cascade in with a 0.05s stagger from the left, and the first is pre-highlighted (accent text on accent-tinted background). Picking a suggestion (click or Enter) converts it into a chip: the chip pops into the row with a spring (from 50% scale, stiffness 480, damping 24), the input clears, and the dropdown collapses (0.12s fade). Chips are accent-tinted pills in small bold monospace with an × to remove; removing one shrinks it away while the remaining chips close the gap with a layout animation. The field border darkens to ink while typing. Wire it to a real input with keyboard navigation: arrows move the highlight, Enter picks, Backspace on an empty input removes the last chip. Do not script typing into the field; a couple of sample chips already sitting in the row are welcome. Accessibility: the dropdown uses role="listbox" / role="option" with aria-selected; the input uses aria-autocomplete="list" and aria-expanded. If prefers-reduced-motion is set, show and hide everything instantly. Build the component, not this demo of it. - Ambient motion that IS the component may loop: a drifting background, a marquee, a spinner while something is genuinely loading. - Do not add any timer, interval, loop or script that performs a person's action by itself. No auto-hover, no auto-click, no cycling through states, no pretend submitting, no replaying the interaction on a schedule. - Every state that answers a person waits for a real event from that person. - Placeholder copy and sample content are welcome. Simulated behaviour is not.
