Scramble Text

Letters churn through noise and settle into the word

Create a scramble text effect. A word or short phrase whose letters churn through random characters and settle into the real text, left to right. Implementation: run an interval every ~45ms. On each tick, increase a settled counter (about one new settled letter every 3 ticks). Render the string as: characters before the settled index show the real character; characters after it show a random character from a pool like A-Z plus #@$%&*. Stop when all letters are settled. Use a monospace font with a couple of extra ch of reserved min-width, so the churn doesn't shift layout. Trigger on first view, and replay on hover or click (make the element a button with an aria-label containing the real text, so screen readers get the actual word, not the noise). If prefers-reduced-motion is enabled, render the final text immediately with no scrambling. Build the component, not this demo of it. - Ambient motion that IS the component may loop: a drifting background, a marquee, a spinner while something is genuinely loading. - Do not add any timer, interval, loop or script that performs a person's action by itself. No auto-hover, no auto-click, no cycling through states, no pretend submitting, no replaying the interaction on a schedule. - Every state that answers a person waits for a real event from that person. - Placeholder copy and sample content are welcome. Simulated behaviour is not.
