404 Animated
The zero escapes the 404, bounces, squashes and rolls back into line
This page bounced somewhere else
Create an animated 404 page. Giant display digits "404" where the middle zero (accent color) is alive: on a ~3s loop it leaps up 22px, squashes on landing (scaleX 1.15, scaleY 0.82 at the impact frame, transform-origin bottom), does a smaller second bounce and rolls a full 360deg back into place. The two 4s lean side to side subtly and continuously (rotate ±4deg, 2.6s ease-in-out loops, opposite phases, transform-origin bottom). Under the zero, an elliptical shadow stretches and darkens in sync with the landing. Below: a muted one-liner ("This page bounced somewhere else") fading up at 0.4s and a "Take me home" button popping in at 0.6s with a spring, 105% on hover, 94% on press. Accessibility: wrap the digits in role="img" with aria-label "404, page not found" and mark the animated digits aria-hidden; the copy is real text. If prefers-reduced-motion is set, show the digits static with the text and button in place. Build the component, not this demo of it. - Ambient motion that IS the component may loop: a drifting background, a marquee, a spinner while something is genuinely loading. - Do not add any timer, interval, loop or script that performs a person's action by itself. No auto-hover, no auto-click, no cycling through states, no pretend submitting, no replaying the interaction on a schedule. - Every state that answers a person waits for a real event from that person. - Placeholder copy and sample content are welcome. Simulated behaviour is not.
